At the Greenbuild Conference's International Summit last week, it was announced that Greenbuild for Europe and the Mediterranean region will launch in Verona, Italy Oct. 8-10, 2014.
"Greenbuild for Europe and the Mediterranean region will be all about green building," said Rick McConnell, president of Hanley Wood Exhibitions, in a statement. "Combining the resources of GBC Italia, USGBC, Veronafiere and Hanley Wood to deliver cutting edge education, the conference will feature top speakers in sustainability and combine the live event experience of Veronafiere and Hanley Wood."
Greenbuild 2013 in Philadelphia wrapped up on Saturday. The event featured a keynote address by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as a performance by the band Bon Jovi. The Philadelphia Convention and Vistors Bureau estimated that Greenbuild brought in $29.8 million for the local economy. Nearly 25,000 people attended the event, which had more than 700 exhibitors including the NWFA.
"GreenBuild is a tremendous opportunity for NWFA to meet with an audience that we might not otherwise get to interact with directly," NWFA COO Anita Howard said of the event. "Our partnership with FSC allows us to meet with key players in the green building movement, and to introduce NWFA and its members to this important and influential group.
The U.S. Greenbuild 2014 will be held in November in New Orleans.
