The National Wood Flooring Association hosted an Intermediate Installation course at its headquarters in Chesterfield, Mo., from June 10-13.
Instructors taught participants job-site preparation; understanding wood; installation of unfinished and factory-finished nail and glue methods; installation of borders and medallions; an an introduction to parquet flooring, among topics.

The instructors were Brett Miller, NWFA; Wayne Lee, Middle Tennessee Lumber; Gene Jarka, Powernail Company; Tim Moore, Fortifiber Corp.; Mark Lamanno, Franklin International; Keith Long, Thunderheart Flooring; and Eric Kurtz, Bostik Inc.
Participants, who were required to have at least one year of installation experience or proof they attended Principles of Wood Floor or Basic Installation school, included Andy Burk, Alex Kemsley, Josh Olson, Roberto Rojas, Dustin Tunstall, Matthew Young, Roy Young and Paul Young.
