David Bain's Save Your Floor thermo hygrometer seemed like it was doing well in 2012, three years after the company started in Toronto. Then, around April, something happened and Bain vanished, with orders left unfulfilled.

In Bain’s absence, one company has set out to begin selling the product again. EDTM Inc. is selling the thermo hygrometer under a slightly different moniker—Save My Flooring—to all of North America.

EDTM, which manufactures and sells testing equipment for glass, windows and film, was able to take over the product from Bain's manufacturer in China.

"We are the new supplier, and we believe in this product," said EDTM Vice President Mark Imbrock said.

EDTM has no connection to Bain and the website he used to sell the thermo hygrometers. While Imbrock said EDTM would not be absorbing the losses customers of Bain's incurred, they are willing to match pricing that had been arranged previously.

EDTM will sell the product direct to retail or any other route. The product can be bought individually or in batches that EDTM can brand with a company's logo.
