Vermont Natural Coatings will host a Sand & Finish, Equipment Maintenance Retreat March 25-27.
The retreat, a partnership between Vermont Natural Coatings, Norton/Saint Gobain and Lägler, will teach participants how to sand various wood species, achieve results with water-based finishes and master preventative maintenance on big machines, edgers and buffers.
Instructing the course will be Bob Goldstein, Vermont Natural Coatings; and Greg Mihaich, Norton Abrasives.
The retreat will be the first event hosted in Vermont Natural Coatings’ new 2,000-square-foot training facility, located at the company’s headquarters in Hardwick, Vt.
The facility was designed and installed under the supervision of Goldstein, Vermont Natural Coatings’ professional floor sales and technical advisor.
Goldstein will also oversee curriculum planning and instruction, drawing from his experience as a National Wood Flooring Association Certified Professionals Inspector, Installer and Sand & Finisher.
Training at the facility will earn credits toward NWFA degrees.
“Through our collaboration with Norton Abrasives and Lägler, we’ll be working with the finest finishes, sanding and buffing materials, and equipment on the market,” said Goldstein in a statement. “The training center will offer a variety of programs throughout the year and allow attendees to sample the incredible hospitality of Vermont’s northeast kingdom while honing their skills.”
The first retreat costs $150, meals included. Free ski passes are available for one attendee and guest at either Jay Peak or Stowe Mountain.
