Brad Thompson Vacates Hardwood Federation Board, Jim Sitts Onboards

After eight years on the Hardwood Federation board of directors, Brad Thompson, CEO of Columbia Forest Products, is stepping down and taking his place will be Jim Sitts, CFP’s Appalachian timber manager.

Columbia Forest Products and Thompson played an “instrumental role” in the development of the Hardwood Federation, executive director Dana Cole told Woodworking Network.

Thompson served on the board from 2006 to 2014. His tenure included terms as the board’s chairman and as chairman of the Hardwood Federation political action committee.

“He has provided excellent counsel and guidance to the staff and membership over the years, helping the Federation determine its path forward,” Cole told Woodworking Network.

Sitts has 45 years of experience in the forest products industry, is a registered forester in the state of North Carolina and has earned the designation of Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters.
