The National Wood Flooring Association held two schools in Vancouver, Canada, at the Carpenters Training Center recently: The Intermediate Installation and Intermediate Sand & Finish schools were held May 25–28 and June 1–4, respectively. Intermediate schools are for students with a minimum of one year of wood flooring experience or who have completed the Principles of Wood Flooring school.
The four-day installation training covered installation techniques that allowed the students to incorporate design elements into a wood floor. The Sand & Finish school taught students how to sand various species, repair and recoat existing floors and how to recoat/resand prefinished floors.
Both schools were led by NWFA Regional Instructor Kjell Nymark of Precision Wood Floor Services in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
