The National Wood Flooring Association’s top education guru brought a school directly to 10 of Totta Hardwood Flooring's employees in Kansas City, Mo., June 30–July 2, as part of the association’s member-sponsored training program.
Brett Miller, NWFA VP of education and certification, led three days of training programs that amounted to an NFWA Intermediate Installation school exclusively for Totta employees.
Owner Mike Totta said he wanted his employees to benefit from NWFA training as much as he has, but it wasn’t feasible for him to send everyone to NWFA headquarters in St. Louis. Putting on a school at Totta HQ was the perfect solution, he said.
“I was hoping to raise the level of knowledge and expertise across the board for all of our guys, and we definitely did so,” he said. “It's not always easy to stop and take the time to hone your craft, but in my experience, it always pays off.”
Bryan Rathbun and Nathan Daniel, manufacturing representatives from Bona US and Basic Coatings, respectively, were also in attendance.
Member-sponsored schools cost $1,000 per day, plus instructor expenses. For more information, contact NWFA’s Tricia Swindoll or Miller.
