A 40-Foot-Container of Flooring Stolen in Canada

Following the theft of four truckloads of wood flooring from The Flooring Marketplace in June, a 40-foot-long container filled with laminate flooring valued at more than $26,000 CAD ($20,090 USD) was stolen from Woodchuck Flooring Inc. (Scarborough, Ontario).

The company says thieves made off with the container of Revue Laminate Flooring from the secure freight depot at Airport Cargo Warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario, sometime between July 25 and July 26.

Woodchuck’s container was one of six containers in the warehouse to have been stolen from the premises.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen product should call the Peel Region Police at (905) 453-3311 or Tim Nassis, Woodchuck’s owner, at (416) 299-5151.

The theft is at least the second robbery of flooring material this summer, but sources within the industry believe more companies have been targeted.

As HF reported on July 14, four truckloads containing more than 66,000 square feet of red oak flooring from The Flooring Marketplace was paid for with stolen credit cards in June. That case is still under investigation.
