World of Wood 2016, the 60th annual wood-products-focused convention organized by the International Wood Products Association, reported a 9 percent growth in attendance compared with last year’s event—a record-setting amount.
The show provided attendees with a range of presentations, including a keynote address from management coach Dean Savoca and seminars about Lacey Act compliance, formaldehyde regulations and marketing sustainably sourced wood products.
The IWPA named its new president, Bronson Newburger of Clarke Veneers and Plywood, at the convention, as well.
“I’m excited to take the reins at IWPA and continue our efforts to grow membership, provide much-needed resources to members as they tackle due diligence, and increase our outreach to organizations that share our dedication to ensuring the health of global forests. It’s going to be a busy year and I can’t wait to get started,” said Newburger in a statement.
World of Wood 2017 will take place at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, April 5–7.
