The National Wood Flooring Association’s Intermediate Installation School and its Sand & Finish School were both held Aug. 8–11.
The Installation School took place at the Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Ga., while the Sand & Finish School took place at Galleher Corporation’s facility in San Jose, Calif.
Leonard Hall, owner of Endurance Floor Co. Inc. (West Park, Fla.) led the Installation school, along with the help of instructors Bill Ptak of DuraSeal (Cleveland) and Wayne Lee of Middle Tennessee Lumber (Burns, Tenn.).
The students were Adam Lambert, Lambert Hardwood Flooring Inc.; Lawrence Lundy, Ideal Interiors Inc.; Joseph Dahlgren, Loba-Wakol LLC; Marc Lax, Mark’s Flooring; Richard Place, Marcs Flooring Service Inc.; Scott Klenke and Patrick Hamill, Horizon Forest Products; Vladimir Nikolin, Hardwood Perfections LLC; David Paal, Premier Flooring Services LLC; James Hubbard, James Hubbard; Shaun Moles, DTO Fabrication LLC; Carlos Gonzalez, Camila’s Flooring Experts; Brian Hagewood, Southern Floors and Blinds; Carlton Eleby and Jacarie Facen, Endurance Floor Co. Inc.; and Curtis Boyd, All Wood Floors Custom Installation and Refinishing.
The lead instructor for the Sand & Finish school was Jason Elquest of Blackhawk Floors Inc. (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Elquest was joined by instructors Jennifer Hansen, 3M; Matt Bingham, American Sanders; Dave Stark and Larry Stephens, Bona US; Craig McIntosh, DuraSeal; Cort Dunlap, Dr. Schutz Gmbh; Tony Ziola, MAPEI Corporation; Allen Nery, Rubio Monocoat; Bob Goldstein, Vermont Natural Coatings; Kelly Hawkins-Schaffner, Waterlox; and Randy Moore, Woca USA.
The students were Robert Benjamin, Robert Benjamin; Chris Vogel and Guilherme Pereira, Rubio Monocoat; Jesus Martinez, West Coast Floor Company; Jerry Coveau, JD Hoss Hardwoods & Carpet; Tracy Kelly, Starcke Abrasives USA Inc.; Howie Cruthers, Howard Cruthers Flooring; John Meyer, BOSCO Contracting Group LLC; Adolfo Gomringer, DuraSeal; David Craig, David Craig; and Nima Chiring, Samaya's Eco-Flooring.
