The Floor Covering Leadership Council, a three-year-old coalition of 13 flooring industry trade associations, has placed the installation shortage at the top of its priority list in 2017, according to a statement recapping the FCLC’s first meeting of the year at The International Surface Event in Las Vegas Jan. 19.
The FCLC will direct its focus and resources to the installation shortage, and its members agreed to develop a strategic plan to serve as a road map for the Installation Summit Task Force. The Installation Summit Task Force is a group of floor covering trade associations and concerned industry professionals who convened first in Dallas last August and again at TISE in January to discuss solutions to the installer shortage.
The FCLC’s next meeting will take place during the NWFA Wood Flooring Expo in April and will be comprised of a professionally facilitated strategy session focused on the installation shortage.
