The company’s net sales for the quarter were $265.2 million, a 6.75 percent decrease compared with sales of $284.4 million in the first quarter of 2016.
Armstrong Flooring’s Wood Flooring business segment had sales of $104.7 million in the first quarter of 2017, a 13.1 percent decline compared with sales of $120.5 million in the first quarter of 2016. The segment reported an operating income loss of $4.6 million compared with a profit of $3.5 million in the first quarter of 2016.
“First quarter 2017 results were below prior year as expected as net sales and adjusted EBITDA largely reflected the timing of load-in and promotional activity in the prior year quarter,” said CEO Don Maier in a statement.
