Wellborn+Wright (Richmond, Va.), which specializes in reclaimed wood flooring, suffered a fire in its warehouse July 18, according to Richmond.com.
Authorities on the scene told Richmond.com the fire started by the spontaneous combustion of oily rags.
No one was in the building when firefighting crews arrived after 5 a.m. Firefighters had to deal with heavy smoke to put the fire out.
“The fire was deep-seated and hard to access, so firefighters went to the roof with saws to cut a large hole to allow the smoke and heat to escape and make conditions better for those in the building,” Henrico County Fire Captain Taylor Goodman said in a news release.
Wellborn+Wright did not immediately respond when contacted for comment.
