A fire destroyed a maintenance building on the Missouri Hardwood Products’ property in Brighton, Mo., in the evening after employees had gone home on July 27.
The building contained a forklift and a number of the maintenance staff’s personal tools, among other items. Everything inside the building was a total loss. The fire caused no injuries to the company’s personnel.
Luckily, the fire was stopped before it could spread to other buildings on the property, said Missouri Hardwood Products’ Jim Robinson, and the company was not forced to stop production.
“It wasn’t a total calamity,” he said. “I think we’ll be able to come back from it pretty quick.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
