Study: 81 Percent of Construction Pros Would Leave Their Job

The majority—81 percent—of construction pros surveyed by Hays US said they would consider leaving their current job position, though the survey notes that number is similar across the U.S. workforce.

Nearly two-thirds of construction pros would take a pay cut for their ideal job, and the same amount said they would take a step down in seniority for their ideal job. That is fewer than the overall workforce, where 71 percent of workers said they would do either.

Almost half—46 percent—of construction workers are satisfied with their current role, compared with 44 percent of the general workforce who said they are satisfied.

The main reason construction pros would consider leaving is because of culture, with an emphasis on company values, working with the right team and strong leadership.
