Bona Donates Hardwood Floor to Transitional Facility in California

Bona US (Aurora, Colo.), along with environmental justice organizations Environmental Media Association and Green For All, donated a white oak hardwood floor to a transitional facility owned by the Time for Change Foundation in San Bernardino, Calif.

The facility is designed for homeless women and their children, and it offers hands-on support, parenting skill workshops and daily activities to build trust, develop self-sufficiency and provide a nurturing atmosphere for the children and their parents.

Bona Certified Craftsman WC Hardwood Floors in Corona, Calif., donated time to install the floor.

“It’s an honor for us at Bona to connect with our community in an important and impactful way. Since 1919 giving back has been core to our business,” said Cate Vanegas, director of marketing, in a statement. “Unlike so many building materials, hardwood floors are renewable and sustainable in addition to highly functional and beautiful. Teaming up with WC Hardwood Floors made the entire process of repurposing the floor easy.”
