Inflation Reaches Four-Month High as Tariffs Take Hold

Inflation rose to a four-month high in June as consumer prices began to reflect the impact of the tariff policies, according to an analysis from the National Association of Home Builders.

The Consumer Price Index increased from 2.4% in May to 2.7% in June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. During the past 12 months, on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the CPI rose by 2.7% in June—the highest since February 2025.

Meanwhile, housing inflation continued to show signs of cooling. The housing shelter index increased 3.8% year over year, the lowest reading since November 2021.
