New Home Sales Rise in Q2

An estimated 170,000 new homes were sold in the second quarter, up from 165,000 in the first quarter but down from 178,000 a year earlier, according to a National Association of Home Builders analysis of U.S. Census Bureau New Residential Sales data.

The median sales price of a new home was $410,700 in the second quarter, up from $408,500 in the first quarter but below the year-ago median of $416,100.
