Flooring Consultants and Inspection Training Services added Paul Sneed to its instructional team, a flooring industry veteran of more than four decades. Sneed has held leadership roles at Shaw Industries, such as product training manager and leadership facilitator. 

The National Federation of Independent Business’s Small Business Optimism Index rose 2.4 points to 99.8 in July to top its 52-year average of 98.0 and mark the highest measurement since August 2025. Small business owners reported their biggest issue in July was labor quality or availability.

California, Texas, Florida Drive Over 20% of Remodeling Spending
California held the largest share of U.S. remodeling spending in the first quarter of 2026 at 8.0%, or $22.2 billion, followed by Texas (7.3%, or $20.2 billion) and Florida (5.5%, or $15.4 billion), according to the second edition of the National Association of Home Builders' State Projections of Remodeling.
