The International Certified Flooring Installers Association will open a new free-standing facility in eastern Canada this April.
The Toronto location will serve the entire eastern region of Canada and will be managed by Canadian Flooring, Cleaning & Restoration President James Lee Senter and CFCR Association Executive Director Sharon Fenton.
The exact date of the grand opening has not been announced but will feature an introduction to four new CFI installation training and certification courses, with topics including moisture and substrate floor preparation, residential installation, hardwood/laminate installation and resilient residential.
The site will offer a “full slate” of additional CFI classes besides just the introductory courses, all taught by CFI-certified instructors trained by U.S. instructors.
CFI Vice President Robert Varden said in a statement that the shortage of trained installers extends well beyond the U.S., and that the association is committed to addressing the issue wherever it exists.
