Shaw Industries (Dalton, Ga.) and Mohawk Industries (Calhoun, Ga.) were both ranked among America’s 500 Best Employers by Forbes magazine, with Mohawk ranking 405th and Shaw ranking 440th.
The list is determined by surveys taken by employees ranking their employers on a scale of zero to 10.
“We’re gratified that the men and women who work at Mohawk view their experience in such a positive light,” Phil Brown, Mohawk senior VP of human resources, said in a statement.
Brown credited the company’s wellness benefits, safety record and training and apprenticeship programs for its positive ranking.

Shaw Industries Chief Human Resources Officer Mike Fromm said in a statement that the company takes pride in creating an environment that attracts and retains the best available talent.
