The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) announced plans to host an educational conference, ‘Empower 2018,’ to provide attendees with new strategies and networking opportunities to help grow their businesses. The conference is slated to take place Sept. 20–21 at the La Cantera Resort & Span in San Antonio, Texas. WFCA members can use their WFCA trade scholarship funds to cover the $199 registration fee. Employees of Mannington Mills Inc. (Salem, N.J.) based in Madison and Calhoun, Ga., participated in the 3rd Annual West Point Lake Dragon Boat Race with their families to raise funds for the Harmony House Domestic Violence Shelter in Lagrange, Ga. The race featured authentic Hong Kong-style dragon boat racing and included 30 teams. Mannington President and CEO Russell Grizzle’s wife, Janice Grizzle, is one of the founders of the shelter, which provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention and advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
