Delta Hardwood Flooring Purchases Lumber Liquidators Finishing Lines

Delta Hardwood Flooring (Boonville, N.Y.), which markets the new Eagle Bay Hardwood Flooring brand, purchased finishing lines and related equipment from Lumber Liquidators in Toano, Va.

Lumber Liquidators announced in its second quarterly report this year that it was exiting its finishing operation in Toano and selling its equipment there for $1.8 million as it began to shift its headquarters to a smaller facility in Richmond.

Delta Hardwood has worked with Lumber Liquidators for many years as an OEM/private label supplier. As part of the new purchasing agreement, Delta Hardwood will sell finished products and provide certain services to Lumber Liquidators moving forward. The new operation headed by Delta Hardwood will represent 25 percent of the unit production previously handled at the Lumber Liquidators facility, with the balance being supplied by other third-party, unaffiliated vendors.

Delta Hardwood’s new brand, Eagle Bay Hardwood Flooring, is also preparing to launch its Frank Lloyd Wright Wood Flooring Collection through Lumber Liquidators.

“By adding these finishing capabilities, we will now be producing all phases of our quality hardwood flooring collections,” Delta Hardwood President and Founder Randy Bowers said in a statement. “We have the space, the manpower, and with the move of the finishing lines to our Boonville facility … we have the ability to handle every aspect of flooring production.”

Lumber Liquidators CEO Dennis Knowles said in a statement that the company is confident about expanding its partnership with Delta Hardwood.

“We are placing our trust in Delta to produce our most premium brand, Bellawood, and know they will continue to maintain our high standards for quality prefinished hardwood flooring,” Knowles said.
