The U.S. hardwood forest products industry contributes $348 billion to the U.S. economy and helps employ more than 1.8 million people, according to an economic impact study released by the Hardwood Federation.
The U.S. hardwood forest products industry contributes $348 billion to the U.S. economy and helps employ more than 1.8 million people, according to an economic impact study released by the Hardwood Federation.
The hardwood flooring industry alone employs 46,085 people and contributes $8.73 billion to the economy, according to the study.
The study spanned all 50 states and concentrated on a number of sectors in the hardwood industry, including hardwood flooring companies, sawmills, lumberyards, kitchen cabinet manufacturers and railway ties.
