Construction spending ticked upward 0.1% in July to $1.28 trillion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Year-over-year construction spending declined 2.7%.
Total residential spending grew 0.6% (down 6.6% year-over-year), and nonresidential spending slipped 0.3% (up 0.1% year-over-year). Private construction spending declined 0.1% (down 4.8% year-over-year), and public construction grew 0.4% (up 4.0% year-over-year).
