Hardwood flooring imports from China have seen a drastic decline in the U.S. as a result of the ongoing trade war, falling 53% year-over-year in July, according to Fordaq.com.
Month-over-month imports of Chinese hardwood flooring fell 5% in July.
President Trump announced in August he would raise tariffs on $250 billion worth of Chinese products, which includes hardwood flooring, from 25% to 30% on Oct. 15. In response, China released a list of additional tariffs on U.S. products, including hardwood flooring.
