The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has rescinded or suspended its approval of third-party certifiers of TSCA Title VI formaldehyde emission standards with locations in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, the Decorative Hardwoods Association reports.
The affected companies will be unable to certify products under the TSCA Title VI program until they have reapplied for recognition or until their suspensions are lifted. The companies include SGS and TUV Rheinland. The EPA’s certification halt was effective August 29.
