Flooring Education Guild to Hold Classes on Pre-Install Site Evaluation, Wood Grading

The Flooring Education Guild will hold classes on wood grading and pre-installation site evaluation in 2020.

The specialty wood grading class will be held Feb. 22–23 at the Bona training facility in Manalapan, N.J. (289 Highway 33 East, Pear Tree Plaza, Building C). The class will be led by Howard Brickman of Brickman Consulting, as well as Dr. Joe Denig, a retired wood products extension agent at North Carolina State University. Students will receive information on wood grading issues, machining and defects, and learning how to identify issues and how they occur. The class is limited to 25 students and costs $395.

The Flooring Guild’s pre-installation site evaluation course will be held in early May at the Dalton Convention Center (2211 Dug Gap Battle Rd, Dalton, GA) and will feature presentations by Brickman and William Thornton, a manufacturing technical director with Tarkett. The cost is $350.
