Mohawk’s Karastan Carpet Brand Enters Wood Flooring Industry with BelleLuxe Line

Karastan, one of the largest carpeting brands in the world, will expand into the hardwood flooring market in 2020 with the launch of BelleLuxe, an engineered hardwood flooring line.

The carpeting giant, owned by Mohawk Industries, will also begin producing a luxury vinyl flooring line.

“Since the emerging flooring consumer places a heavy emphasis on brand and has a strong preference for hard surface, we knew now was the time to expand Karastan,” Mohawk VP of Residential Marketing Seth Arnold said in a statement.

BelleLuxe will feature wide planks curated from aged woods. The flooring will have a wear layer that can be refinished up to three times and will have KaraFinish, a low-gloss finish, the company says. The line features four collections: Chevreau (French oak), Ashmore Oak, Worthington Oak (and Herringbone), and Villa Pointe Maple.
