Pending home sales declined 4.9% month-over-month in December, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Compared with December 2018, pending home sales are up 4.6%.
Contract signings fell in all regions month-over-month during December, declining 4.0% in the Northeast; 3.6% in the Midwest; 5.5% in the South; and 5.4% in the West.
Compared with December 2018, pending home sales grew 1.3% in the Midwest, 7.0% in the West and 7.4% in the South. In the Northeast, year-over-year pending home sales declined 0.1%.
