Domotex Asia/ChinaFloor Postpones Shanghai Show Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Domotex Asia/ChinaFloor, one of the largest flooring trade shows in the world, announced it is postponing its China trade show due to the recent outbreak of coronavirus in several Chinese provinces.

The show had been scheduled for March 24–26 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, Shanghai. Organizers said they will announce new dates following the Lunar New Year holiday.

“Thank you for your strong support and participation over the past 22 years,” Domotex said in a statement posted to Facebook. “However, at this critical moment we are primarily concerned with your health and safety. Meanwhile we also want to secure the best results from the show to our participants. Thank you for your understanding!”

The U.S. has begun evacuating Americans from China due to the flu-like coronavirus, and has been considering a ban on travel to China, according to CBS. As of Jan. 29, 132 people have died from the virus, all of them in China. More than 6,000 people have been infected by coronavirus around the world, five of them in the U.S.
