Construction spending is up 5.0% compared with December 2018.
Total residential spending grew 1.4% month-over-month and 5.8% year-over-year. Total nonresidential spending fell 1.2% compared with November and increased 4.4% compared with December 2018.
Total private construction fell 1.4% from November and increased 2.9% from December 2018. Total public construction declined 0.4% month-over-month while surging 11.5% year-over-year.
