An analysis by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) found that 61.3% of new and existing homes were affordable in the first quarter of 2020, a drop from the first quarter of 2019’s 63.2%. NAHB credited the decline to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has pushed the national median income down 7.1% from original estimates.
