China-based Flooring Company to Invest $70 Million in New Georgia Plant

Creative Flooring Solutions (CFL), a manufacturer of wood, laminate and luxury vinyl flooring, will invest more than $70 million in a new manufacturing facility in Calhoun, Ga.

The new facility will create 300 jobs, according to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

CFL was founded in Shanghai in 2004 and employs 3,500 people at factories in China, Taiwan and Vietnam, as well as multiple offices and distribution centers around the world.

“This marks a next step in our plan to become a global company, producing closer to where our goods are being sold,” CFL Owner and President Thomas Baert said in a statement June 24. “We are looking forward to contributing to the economic wellbeing of the community in Calhoun, Gordon County, and Georgia.”

The company will locate in a new 252,000-square-foot facility, which it plans to expand another 250,000 square feet.

The company’s website states it is the largest exporter of flooring from Asia.
