Associated Builders and Contractors' Construction Backlog Indicator fell to 8.0 months in July, the lowest level since January and 0.8 months below both the June reading and its level a year ago, according to an ABC member survey.

There were 305,000 construction job openings on the last day of June, a monthly increase of 14,000, and year-over-year increase of 81,000, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.
