Domotex 2021 has been postponed to May 20–22, 2021, in Hannover, Germany.
The trade show was originally scheduled for Jan. 15–18, 2021, and was pushed back due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and requests from exhibitors and visitors to hold the in-person show at a later date.
The annual event is a largely international one, as 70% of attendees came from abroad in January 2020, according to event organizers with Deutsche Messe AG.
“With our comprehensive hygiene and safety concept, as well as with the positive registration situation, we were very optimistic until very recently,” Deutsche Messe AG Board Member Andreas Gruchow said in a statement. “But the latest developments show that we do not know whether the travel situation will have significantly improved by January 2021.”
The event had already booked two thirds of its exhibition space prior to the postponement announcement, organizers said.
The Domotex team is planning to host a digital conference Jan. 15, 2021. The online event will address business strategies in the time of COVID-19. Domotex will release more information about the digital event in the future.
Domotex Asia/ChinaFloor is holding its in-person trade show in Shanghai Aug. 31–Sept. 2 and is the first major flooring exhibition held in person since the outbreak.
