Fred van Bers, the inventor of the Elastilon adhesive mat, has died, the company announced.
van Bers developed the Elastilon System in the Netherlands city of Eindhoven nearly 30 years ago and patented the method in 1998. Over the years, van Bers introduced the product to 30 countries.
“Fred’s Elastilon legacy will live forever, and he has made a huge difference by his contribution to the hardwood flooring industry around the world,” U.S. Elastilon Representative Steven Suntup said in a statement.
