Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, imports of tropical flooring grew 2% in the European Union during the first eight months of 2020 compared with the same period last year, ITTO reports. The gain was due to a 31% rise in imports from Malaysia, most of them destined for Belgium. Tropical flooring imports fell 1% from Brazil, 4% from Indonesia and 19% from Vietnam.
September construction spending grew 0.3% over August to $1.414 trillion, the U.S. Census Bureau reports. Year-over-year, construction spending was up 1.5%.
