The index remains above the 47-year historical average reading of 98.
The NFIB Uncertainty Index decreased 8 points during the month but remains at a historically high reading of 90. Business owners expecting better business conditions over the next 6 months decreased 19 points to a net 8%.
NFIB credited the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent election as factors creating uncertainty for small business owners regarding future business conditions.
