WFB Briefs: Housing Affordability ‘Steady’; Bruce Hardwood Among ‘30 Most Innovative’; Construction Project Backlog Grows

Housing affordability held steady in the fourth quarter of 2020 as record-low mortgage rates offset record-high home prices, according to the National Association of Home Builders. Of the new and existing homes sold in the quarter, 58.3% were affordable to families with an adjusted median income of $72,900. 

 

Bruce Hardwood Flooring’s Barnwood Living Collection by Mark Bowe was named among the “30 Most Innovative Products for 2021” by Beautiful Kitchens & Baths Magazine.

 

Houzz’s Project Backlog Indicator for the construction industry increased to 7.4 weeks nationally at the start of the first quarter of 2021, up from 7.2 weeks in the fourth quarter of 2020. See the full report here.
