U.S. imports of hardwood flooring dropped 21% in 2020 due to sharp declines in imports from Asian suppliers, ITTO reports.
Hardwood flooring imports from China dropped 53%, and imports from Malaysia declined 53%. Hardwood flooring imports from Indonesia fell 34%.
Hardwood flooring imports from Brazil, one of the largest suppliers to the U.S., dropped 4% in 2020.
Imports of engineered flooring, however, increased 11% in 2020 compared with 2019, with imports from Vietnam increasing 48% and imports from Indonesia growing 28%. Engineered flooring imports from China dropped 18% as imports from Canada grew 4%.
