Sika Announces Acquisition of DriTac

Sika Corporation (Lyndhurst, N.J.) has acquired DriTac Flooring Products LLC (Clifton, N.J.).

The acquisition is designed to increase Sika’s presence among floor covering installers and distributors and accelerate the company’s expansion in the interior finishing market in the U.S.

DriTac’s staffing will remain in place for now, according to Sika, and DriTac’s longtime leadership, Yale Block and Myrna Block, will remain involved in the running of DriTac moving forward.

DriTac has been in operation since 1956; its product range includes polyurethane, modified silicone and water-based technologies. Sika, which is headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, noted that DriTac generated sales of 20 million Swiss francs ($21.3 million USD) in 2020.

“Expansion in interior finishing is a key growth initiative for Sika, and we are well-positioned to bring all our technologies, including the newly acquired range, to our customers in this large and attractive market,” Sika’s Regional Manager Americas Cristoph Ganz said in a statement. “We welcome the new employees to the Sika family and look forward to further developing the business together.”
