Bona Reduced Energy Consumption by 20% in 2020

Bona (Malmo, Sweden) reduced its overall energy consumption by 20% in 2020, according to its 2020 Sustainability Report

The company also estimates that the number of floor finishing products it produced refinishing instead of replacing hardwood flooring was enough to save 28 million square meters of forest area, equivalent to 3,610 soccer fields.

“Bona is making commitments and taking action to do better not just for today but also for future generations,” President and CEO Pontus Cornelius said in a statement. “For 100 years, sustainability has been at the foundation of our company, so we will build on that base to continue our efforts in the years to come.”

Bona reported increases in its online sales in all markets in 2020. The company also registered more than 28,500 logins to BonaTraining.com, where there were 500 more course completions than in 2019.

The company also celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Bona Certified Craftsman Program in 2020. The BCC program currently has 2,800 members worldwide.
