Domotex 2022 has been canceled, and plans to reschedule it for a later date in 2022 are underway.
Domotex, one of the largest flooring industry trade shows, was originally slated to take place in January in Hannover, Germany.
Organizers said the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was the impetus for the cancelation of the event, which is historically made up of mostly international attendees and exhibitors.
“Given the current pandemic situation, international business travel is not expected to recover in the short term," stated Sonia Wedell-Castellano, global director Domotex, Deutsche Messe AG. "What was considered a realistic and promising re-start scenario a month ago, and was also well received by the market, has proven to be no longer feasible in recent days."
Organizers said they are looking at later dates in 2022 to reschedule. The event has been pushed back multiple times since the pandemic and was last held in-person in January 2020. Organizers reported in July that 95% of the floor space for the 2022 Hannover event was booked.
