Connor Sports (Amasa, Mich.) is marking its 150th year in business with a series of events to pay tribute to its employees, customers, dealers and supply partners.
The company, founded by the Connor family in Wisconsin in 1872, began as a furniture manufacturer. Today, Connor Sports is known for producing hardwood basketball courts, manufacturing the “Official Court of the NCAA” since 2006. The company’s Amasa mill produces hardwood for sport courts around the world using primarily timber harvested in Michigan. The company was acquired by Gerflor in 2014.
The company will host activities and tributes throughout the country in 2022, including basketball-themed events in conjunction with the NCAA Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournaments and Final Four, events at the company’s Amasa mill, as well as virtual events on the company’s website and social media channels.
Connor Sports also unveiled a new logo in honor of its 150th year. The logo is designed to blend “the company’s heritage and its workforce with the natural elements of timber, sustainability and forward-reaching research and technology,” the company said.
“Connor Sports is extremely proud to acknowledge our 150th anniversary from a heritage born of the hard work ethic and commitment of generations of proud timber workers forming our raw materials supply chain in the forests of Michigan and the skilled men and women at our production mill in Amasa that make our high-quality products possible,” Connor Sports CEO Benjamin Bachman said in a statement.
