WFB Briefs: Section 301 Tariffs Under Review; Artistic Finishes Discontinues Cork-Wrapped Trim

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is reviewing Section 301 tariffs on imports of Chinese goods, including 25% tariffs on hardwood plywood and engineered wood flooring, according to the Decorative Hardwoods Association (DHA). The USTR is requesting public comments regarding the tariffs. The DHA announced it is speaking out in favor of extending the tariffs.

Artistic Finishes Inc. announced it will discontinue its cork-wrapped trim offerings Dec. 1 due to difficulties finding a steady supply of cork for its molding program. “In order to continue to support cork floors, we will instead offer custom-blended moldings produced on solid wood to coordinate with any existing cork floors in our database,” the company stated.
