Q.E.P.’s Harris Wood Flooring Plant to Lay Off 87 Employees in August

Q.E.P. Co. Inc.’s Harris wood flooring plant in Johnson City, Tenn., will lay off 87 employees permanently August 9, according to a WARN Notice filed with the state’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development on June 6.

The employees at the facility are not represented by a collective bargaining agreement, according to the filing.

The Harris flooring company has operated in Johnson City since 1898. Harris Wood was acquired by Q.E.P. in 2010. Q.E.P. is also the parent company of Roberts, Kraus, Naturally Aged Flooring and more.
