Rubio Monocoat USA (Spicewood, Texas) is now partnering with Veritree to plant a tree at a U.S. planting site for every order received. Customers are encouraged to join in the effort by purchasing additional trees at checkout, and they can track the impact of Rubio Monocoat orders at the Impact Hub, which offers a tally of trees, the environmental benefits and more. The trees from Rubio Monocoat orders will be planted in the Santiam State Forest Reforestation of Oregon and the Lake Wales Ridge State Forest of Florida. As more opportunities arise, additional planting sites will be added.
In other company news, in partnership with Festool USA, Rubio sponsored the 2023 All-Women’s Build-Off hosted at the Florida School of Woodwork in Tampa, Fla. Two all-female teams of woodworkers competed to build two pieces of furniture being raffled off to support women in woodworking. The teams consisted of seven total team members and were led by Alma Villalobos of Pink Soul Studios and Amanda Russell of Sawdust Woman. Team Villalobos crafted a white oak bar cabinet, while Team Russell created a contemporary bar cart from walnut. The pieces are being raffled off to benefit the Florida School of Woodwork’s non-profit, Friends of the Florida School of Woodwork, and can be purchased here until Dec. 31.
