The Associated Builders and Contractors reported its Construction Backlog Indicator increased to 8.6 months in December after a reading of 8.5 months in November. Compared with December 2022, the reading is down 0.6 months. ABC’s Construction Confidence Index readings for sales, profit margins and staffing levels increased in December. All three readings remained above the threshold of 50, indicating expectations for growth over the next six months.
The World Floor Covering Association appointed Sam O’Krent chairman of the board. O’Krent, CEO of O’Krent Floors in San Antonio, Texas, will embark on a two-year term as the organization's 60th chairman.
