Ken Hopkins, a repair shop tech in Horizon Forest Products’ Raleigh branch, died in a traffic accident March 1. He was 55.
Hopkins was retrieving a trailer that had become unhooked on his truck when he was struck and killed by another vehicle.
“Ken was a wonderful man and was one of the kindest men I knew,” Horizon Forest Products Vice President David Williams said in a company-wide email. “Everyone loved Ken, and he is truly going to be missed. The Raleigh Flooring Branch, Raleigh Lumber Branch, and the Raleigh Corporate Offices are grieving today for a lost friend.”
Hopkins was also a retired Raleigh police officer and Marine Corps veteran, according to WRAL News. Funeral arrangements for Hopkins are still pending.
